What Is Georgia e-Visa?

Georgia e-Visa is a traveling document that gives you access to or entry into Georgia. For you to have access to the Georgia e-Visa, you’ll need a stable internet connection and a PC. With this connection, you can practically apply for the visa right from your comfort zone without having to visit any office.
Once you’ve obtained the e-Visa, you can now have exclusive access to enter the Georgian territory as an ordinary sticker visa in the passport.

What Are The Require Documents Needed When Applying For a Georgia e-Visa?

As I have mentioned before, the application process is easy and straightforward but there are certain documents that will be required of you to upload while you apply for the e-Visa online.
If for any reason you can not provide those documents, you won’t be able to complete the registration process. I’ll advise you to have those documents I’m going to mention below before you even think about starting the application process.

Documents For Georgia e-Visa Application

  • A scanned copy of your original passport
  • The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the validity of the Georgia e-Visa
  • A scanned copy of your passport with the following specifications
The photo must be as per the ICAO standards
The maximum allowed size is 472 x 600 pixels or 4 x 5.16 cm
The photo must be at 300 DPI resolution
Scanned copy of the passport data/ID page
Must be in PDF format
 
 

What Is The Required Passport Validity For Georgia e-Visa?

 
For you to be eligible for the Georgia e-Visa, you must hold a passport that is valid for at least 3 months beyond the validity of the Georgia e-Visa.
What this means is that your Georgia e-Visa which is valid for 120 days from the day you intended to travel must not exceed your passport validity. If that happens, then you need to find a solution for your passport.
Below is an example of how the Georgia e-Visa works when it relates.
let’s say you’re supposed to be in Georgia on the 30 of September 2002. This means that your  Georgia e-Visa will need to be valid from the 30th of September 2022 to January 2023, which makes it a total of 120 days. With this, your passport will have to be valid for at least until April 30th, 2023.

Step By Step Process For Applying For Georgia e-Visa-

To successfully get your Georgia e-Visa, make sure you follow all the steps I’m going to highlight below.
Step #1
  • Visit the official website of the Georgia e-Visa application.
  • Locate the button that says APPLY
  • On clicking on apply, a screen will pop up showing you the current regulation for entering Georgia for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers.
  • Make sure you take your time to read and ensure you understand the current COVID-related requirements such as vaccinations, PCR tests, etc.
  • Once you read and understand the popup, you can then scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate the “I Agree” button and click on it.
  • A new page will come up revealing the “Citizenship/Country” page.
  • Once you’re on the page, enter the following on the “Citizenship/Country” page.

How To Fill The Citizenship Page On Georgia e-Visa Portal

  • Citizenship/Country [ Select your country of passport from the dropdown]
  • Type of Travel Document/Passport [Select “Ordinary” from the options. The passports we hold are usually called Ordinary or Normal]
  •                 Diplomatic
  •                 Ordinary
  •                 Service/Special/Official
  •                 Travel Document for Stateless Person
  • Purpose of the visit [Select “Tourism” from the options]
  •                 Tourism
  •                 Business/Professional
  •                 Visiting friends and relatives
  •                 Study and Training less than 90 days
  •                 Health and medical care
  •                 Religion/Pilgrimages
  • Insurance [Select this box if you already have travel health insurance]
  • I am a holder of a valid visa and/or residence permit of a respective country (if applicable) [ This field is visible only if you are from a certain nationality. If you hold a valid visa or residence permit from any of the countries listed in the dropdown, select it. If not, leave it as “Not Specified”]
  • Security verification [Make sure you Enter the numbers and/or letters shown above this field to verify that you are a human and not a robot/computer]
  • Check the box for “I confirm that I have read….”.
  • Click on the green “NEXT” button.
For any reason while filling out the form, you selected  “I am a holder of valid visa and/or residence permit of the respective country”, you will notice another page known as the “You are exempt from visa” page.
On that page, you will be shown a “List of Necessary Documents” that you’ll need to provide or upload.
Make sure that you take your time to understand the required documents and what you need to provide then you can go ahead and click on the “CONTINUE” button.
The next step you will see is a page known as the “Travel Information” page. 
On the travel page or the Georgia e-Visa portal, you’re mandated to have health insurance if you must enter Georgia. after the application, you will get your e-Visa without having to provide any proof of health insurance. But before you can enter the country, you’ll be asked to provide proof of travel health insurance at the airport or the land border. If for any reason you’re unable to provide this proof at the airport, you’ll be denied entry into Georgia.
When you have a visa or resident permit from the list of countries on the exemption list, you’ll not need an e-Visa.
What this means is that a citizen of those countries is exempted from a Georgia Visa. Those people from those countries will not need a visa or residence permit to enter Georgia.

If you’re from any of the countries I mentioned above, all you need to do is to select “I am a holder of a valid visa and/or residence permit of the respective country”, and you will be informed that you are VISA EXEMPT.
Follow the steps to the end of the registration page to apply for your visa. It will take you 10-15 Minutes to complete the registration.
